The Seven Deadly Sins: Greed, Gluttony, Envy, Wrath, Vanity (or Pride), Sloth, and Lust. Each one of us is guilty of committing at least one of these sins. Since most won’t own up to it, though, we’re glad a few graphic designers and photographers captured these qualities in their art. In this post, you’ll find over fifty-five artistic renditions of the Seven Cardinal Sins.

The modern concept of the Seven Deadly Sins is linked to the works of the 4th century monk Evagrius Ponticus, who listed eight evil thoughts, in Latin. In 1589, Peter Binsfeld paired each of the deadly sins with a demon, who tempted people by means of the associated sin.
