The double challenge of designing a suitable website for artists of any kind is well known to web designers. The tricky part is to design a site that will present the art works beautifully, without overshadowing them. At the same time the site should communicate the artists’ style, so the designer must learn to “talk” the same language the artists talk.
If you find your photographs like mine, far from perfect, then I bet you have the need to edit. One of the main problems from digital cameras today is the amount of noise you will have in your photograph. Even while using a tripod, you may still experience movement. This is one of the first corrections I make in Photoshop, as 99% of my photos are hand-held. I’m sure I’m not alone.
Dance ensnares us also with its beautiful motions and the cultural stories it tells. Whether a ‘street’ dance or a more formal dance, the emotion and sensuousness of the movements are very tempting to capture.
An art form in and of itself is the photography of movement, especially that of dance.
From the moment you boot up your laptop or desktop until you open the first application, the image you select for your background or wallpaper sets the pace for your inspiration. You may think, “So what is the big deal with 3D and what makes it so different from 2D?” It is no secret that visualization plays a major role with the human brain. The 2 dimensional image will be flat only have an X and a Y axis while the 3 dimensional image will have a X, Y, and Z axis, adding depth to the design.
Smiling Bag Productions is an artist I’ve been following for a couple of years now. They’re like the Banksy of the Middle East, and provide an insider’s perspective (whereas Banksy comes in to display his outsider’s viewpoint). This particular form of stencil graffiti shines light on the mentality of at least a portion of the population, providing a rather satirical interpretation of current soci0-political issues.
You will see in the tutorials to create good high quality splatter brushes for Photoshop is pretty easy. Though there are several ways you can make them, one method takes some black paint or ink, paper, scanner, and of course, Adobe Photoshop. Next thing you know there is a huge mess to clean, but you have created your very own. That sounds like fun but to save time and frustration, I enjoy searching for the best of the best.
Sometimes we can just sit there and gaze at a finished project but the pizazz just isn’t there. You can liven up that project by intensifying the image or text with a glowing effect. What inspires you to create? The elements play quite a big, if often unnoticed, factor in design. Ancient concepts of energy from nature have influenced many forms of art. Everyone is affected by them and reacts in various ways.
Let’s take a look at the five main environmental elements and how they come into play in graphic design.
Stop, Thief! If you’ve ever had anything stolen from you, then you are aware of the terrible feeling you get from having your possessions taken away. On the Internet, if you’re a writer or an artist, it is even more irritating to see your hard work being used without proper credit to you, or even the credit being taken by someone else. If you hate seeing images and writing being taken and used without credit, you definitely wouldn’t do the same to another, right? Well, at least not with the intention of doing so…
Let’s say you have this really cool post with 40-50 images and all of a sudden you have an abundance of traffic then your site goes down and you cannot understand why.
The thumbnail you used was 1024×768 but scaled down to 160×160 so naturally you assume you are using the same number of bytes that you would with the smaller file, but that is not the case. Then each of your 40-50 images are the same 1024×768 scaled down to something like 500×375.
